Spring Fishing!
We have had some decent weather this Spring, and I've had the chance to get out on the river quite a few times, either solo, or with good friends. I've found that in these weeks before the runoff, the trout can have quite the appetite. Although midges seem to be what they are most interested in, last week I caught a nice brown on a size 14 Parachute Adams. I enjoyed nymph fishing, but there is nothing like catching a trout on a nice, juicy, dry fly!
Here are a few photos compiled from the last couple of weeks astream.
A friend caught this 19 inch brown as measured on the Scott S4.
I caught this brown on a olive midge I created on the vice

City water
Last week I got out and caught the first trout of 2012. I fished a stretch of river through the city that I haven't wet a line in before. The fis were rising the whole time I was there, but it was not until right before I left that I figured out that a midge emerger was the magic fly. Here's to a new season!
